WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) is fueled by unpredictable, over-the-top action, inventive story lines and charismatic Superstars. Mattel is responsible for capturing that personality via its line of WWE toys and approached Popgun to create a packaging line look capable of evoking the excitement, power, and explosive energy that only WWE delivers.
Our exploration included packaging shape and structure, color palette, Superstar branding and typography, as well as background and photography treatments. A style guide was subsequently produced from the selected “three ropes” route and packaging iterations implemented.
As a result, Mattel’s WWE packaging has an incredible retail presence with segments that are clearly defined, yet still reflect the overarching brand design.
